Mark an in and an out. Press Copy. The section is
filed in a dated folder and loaded
into your source monitor, so you can cut it back in as if it were normal
source material.
Keeps a list, so you can always see what you copied.
Or don't press Copy at all. Premiere's own Make Subsequence command works too, so your keyboard shortcuts stay exactly as they are.
Because if anything is still selected in your timeline, the next copy grabs that instead of your marks, with no heads up. You only find out when the wrong material lands.
For moving between two sequences, yes, and plenty of editors do. It needs screen space you may not have, and it copes badly with a multi-track sequence. It doesn't help inside a single cut, where there's no second timeline to stack.
Because you can see it. It arrives in your source monitor, and the panel keeps a list, so you're not holding the clipboard in your head and hoping.
